A recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Lincoln College University Centre has taken a significant step in their career.

A recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Lincoln College University Centre has taken a significant step in their career by landing a role at Red Bull Racing, Milton Keynes, shortly after completing their Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC).

Ethan King, who completed his studies in July 2024 with Distinction, credits his time at Lincoln College University Centre for providing a strong foundation for career success.

Having initially completed an apprenticeship at Lincoln College, the decision to pursue an HNC in Mechanical Engineering was a strategic move to advance his expertise and create new opportunities for growth within the engineering sector.

Ethan explained that the decision to continue his education at Lincoln College was a natural progression: “The staff have consistently been supportive and approachable,” he said. “They created a positive learning environment where I felt encouraged to continue my studies. Their teaching methods made complex concepts easier to understand and engaging, which motivated me to advance further.”

Reflecting on his time at Lincoln College University Centre, Ethan highlighted the dedication of the teaching staff as a standout aspect of the course. “The members of staff were consistently helpful and committed to ensuring that each student fully understood the course content. They took the time to explain complex topics clearly and were always willing to provide additional support when needed,” he added.

This supportive environment not only helped Ethan excel academically but also prepared him for the challenges of his new engineering role.

Just one week after completing his HNC, Ethan secured a role at Red Bull Racing. This position marks a monumental milestone in his career.

“The HNC allowed me to gain technical knowledge I can apply to my role within the company. It also gave me insights into project aspects and the drive for continuous improvement,” he explained.

Encouraging others to consider the HNC programme, Ethan emphasised its career-boosting potential. “Thanks to the significant career advancements I was able to achieve in such a short time, I highly recommend pursuing the HNC. This qualification not only opens numerous career opportunities but also serves as a strong foundation for further academic development.”

Ethan’s success story highlights the value of Lincoln College University Centre’s engineering programmes and the opportunities that can arise for students. With the combination of a supportive academic environment and a practical, career-focused curriculum, graduates are well-equipped to make their mark in the competitive engineering industry.
