Policing Degree Students Take on Real-Life Emergency Scenario at Lincoln Resilience Forum

Level 5 students from the BA (Hons) Professional Policing degree at Lincoln College University Centre recently had the opportunity to take part in a real-world table-top exercise hosted by the Lincoln Resilience Forum.

The session, held last week, directly supported their module on Police Response and Major Incidents and provided students with an invaluable hands-on learning experience.

During the exercise, the students were challenged to design and present a response plan to a simulated major incident at entertainment venue, The Engine Shed.

The scenario - a staged terror attack - mirrored the kinds of complex situations that senior emergency managers regularly rehearse to ensure effective, coordinated responses in real life.

Working as a team, the students demonstrated strong collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as they tackled the demands of managing an unfolding crisis.

Course Lead, Zoe Tetley, praised the students for their professionalism and engagement. She said: "Experiences like these help bridge the gap between theory and practice - preparing future policing professionals for the realities of their careers."
