Students from the Skills for Sport programme at Lincoln College will be taking part in a sponsored walk on Friday 12 June to honour the memory of former student Stuart Waters-Manning and raise funds for the Forever 19 Community Group.
This year marks two years since Stuart's passing. Remembered for his kindness, positivity and caring nature, Stuart made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His legacy continues to inspire both students and staff across the college community. Stuart studied on the Skills for Sport programme before progressing to Sports and Public Services at Lincoln College, where he continued to develop his passion for helping others and sport.
To support this meaningful cause, students will walk from Lincoln College to Daisy Made and back again, raising money for the Forever 19 Community Group while celebrating Stuart’s life and the positive difference he made to those around him.
The sponsored walk follows a number of fundraising activities held in Stuart’s memory over the past two years. In 2024, Lincoln College hosted several events in his honour, including a charity football match, bike-a-thon, barbecue, and fundraising activities organised by students and staff, ensuring Stuart’s legacy continues to bring people together.
Current Skills for Sport student Benjamin Graham, a close friend of Stuart, recently helped organise the annual Stu’s Cup charity football match alongside his mother, Lucy Graham, at Rustons. The event brought together family, friends and members of the community, with Stuart’s mother, brothers and grandfather all in attendance.
Benjamin said: “Stu was kind and trustworthy, mature and passionate, we shared a passion for football. It feels good to do something in his memory.”
Students taking part hope to continue honouring his memory while supporting a cause that is close to the hearts of those who knew him.
Anyone wishing to support the students and contribute to the Forever 19 Community Group is encouraged to donate and help ensure Stuart’s legacy lives on through the positive impact made within the local community. Click here to donate.
