Staff Championed at Annual Awards

As well as rightly celebrating our learners at this year’s Lincoln College FE Awards, it was also a chance to turn the focus onto our amazing staff!

As well as rightly celebrating our wonderful learners and their achievements at this year’s Lincoln College FE Awards, it was also a chance to turn the focus onto our amazing staff too!

Each year, we take the opportunity to tell the stories of the remarkable teams that we work alongside every day and make sure they know that we’re taking note of their efforts, achievements and accomplishments.

This year, as a special one-off, we were also able to present superstar English champion, Lynn Baker with two certificates from two independent award bodies. Not only did Lynn’s team think she was worth nominating for two national awards, but we were also lucky enough to get two highly commended results back from the NCFE and the Pearson Teaching Awards.

Our own internal awards also come from nomination from fellow staff members, so they really come from the heart.

Among the winners were Jon Cotton, who received a lengthy nomination that talked about his passion for not only Construction as a whole, but also his team’s health and wellbeing. Those of you that know Jon will know he is rarely without his trademark smile and his title of Individual 'Tom Marsden' Management Staff Award really felt like a great nod to our dearly departed friend and colleague Tom Marsden.

Elsewhere, Sasha Hate was also recognised for her commitment to charity, her fundraising and rallying of multiple academic departments to get involved in raising cash for those less fortunate was not unnoticed and the passion to help others really shone through.

A team that included the International element of the College was also recognised, with the those behind the AoC Beacon Award nomination and subsequent win being praised for their immaculate award-winning presentation day.

Elsewhere the Hospitality team swept the Curriculum Team of the Year award, with incredible stats proving why they are rightful winners this year.

Amun Farham was recognised for her work on the attendance portal that feeds performance stats across all three college sites and Chris Newboult-Robinson was held up for his tireless commitment to his learners and his fellow staff.

The full list of deserving winners is as follows, well done to all!
