Student Plasterers Showcase Their Skill In Competition

The College’s Level 1 and Level 2 Plasterers had a reason to be cheerful recently as they took part in a competition with amazing prizes on offer.

Lincoln College’s Level 1 and Level 2 Plasterers had a reason to be cheerful recently as they took part in a competition with some amazing prizes on offer.

Tom Pederson, said: “This was a great opportunity to show how far our learners have come this year.

“Learners had to bead and section a full plasterboard into three different and challenging areas.

Area A was plastered smoothly and neatly up to the beads, Area B was coated in a bonding coat and keyed to finish, while Area C, placed in the middle of Area B, was plastered the same as A.

Tom adds: “The learners were being marked on their overall skill, time keeping abilities as well as keeping their work areas tidy, as if they were on a real plastering job.

“We were blown away with the standards shown here and are excited to see what our winners will go on to do in their careers. We were also gifted some amazing prizes from Ox Tools, Ragni, and Refina, which our worthy winners were really excited to receive.”

Winners were:

1. Jake Marns – Level 1

2. Judd Townhill – Level 2

3. Lucas Anderson – Leve 1

4. Aiden Marshall Shardlow – Level 1

5. Harry Marklew and Elnar Usakov – Level 2
