Level 3 Sport students at Lincoln College discuss the importance of British values and their implication in sport.

Prevent Officer Christopher Gow lead a discussion with the learners who spoke of the importance of respect, rules, discipline and equality within sport.

Christopher said “I couldn’t be prouder to facilitate discussions about respect, equality and diversity."

Sport Lecturer Andrew McEwan said “It was great to see the group so engaged and relating to British values in sport. It produced some really great discussions.”

When discussing respect within football, student Olly Presley said “If you respect others, then they will respect you. This relates to respecting officials, fans and other participants on both teams.

“If you don’t respect others then depending on the situation you could be punished – respect is a key part of sport.”
