Get industry-ready
The College has been designed to train school leavers to prepare them for apprenticeships and jobs in police support roles and to provide a pathway for students to study pre-join degrees and join up as police officers.
All students will spend a significant amount of time in police environments, training with officers and hearing from expert guest speakers from the Police.
The Study Programme will also have a focus on physical fitness, health and well-being, resilience, problem solving and leadership. Students will also continue English and Maths studies to improve their literacy and numeracy.
What will I study?
Policing students will study a Policing Productivity Study Programme. This will include a core qualification with units designed by the College and Lincolnshire Police to prepare graduates for specific support roles and to prepare those students who wish to progress to a pre-join Policing Degree.
What will the experience be like?
You’ll get unprecedented access to policing environments, expert speakers and real-life training exercises.
Your Productivity Training will be designed to prepare you for the culture, expectations and values of policing and will include; stop and search, public order incidents, crime scene investigation, drones, cyber security, emergency call handling, dog handling and fitness activities.
What jobs will it prepare me for?
The Policing Productivity Study Programme will prepare students for the following apprenticeship and job roles:
• Emergency Call Handler
• Custody Officer
• Police IT Support worker
• Police Analyst
• Police HR Officer
• Police Business Administrator.
What are my chances of getting a job?
We can’t guarantee a job with the police as all jobs and apprenticeships have to be subject to interview and vetting – but Lincolnshire Police has guaranteed interviews to Policing College Graduates – you won’t get this anywhere else.
What is a Pre-Join Degree?
Lincoln College have developed a pre-join degree that started in September 2020.
This degree course will give graduates the competitive advantage in police officer recruitment rounds and prepare them to pass first time if they are successful in interview.
Where possible students will join the Special Constabulary as Special Police Constables – serving the community alongside Police Officers while they complete their studies.
Policing Productivity Study Programme graduates who meet the entry criteria will be given priority places on this degree course and be offered a £1,000 cashback guarantee on completion of the first year of their degree.
Why choose The Policing College?
We are not just preparing young people to work for Lincolnshire Police, we are preparing learners for university and to apply for other roles in the Criminal Justice System.
