Student Finance
You may be able to borrow money to help pay for your tuition fees and to help with living costs.
You might get extra money on top of this, for example if you’re on a low income, are disabled or have children.
You may be able to get student finance even if you’re not from the UK.

Disabled Student Allowance (DSA)
The Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) can provide additional support to help you in your studies for students with diagnosed conditions.

If you apply for DSA, the College can implement the recommendations within the report. Please give the details below to your tutor and ask for the information to be sent across.
If you would prefer the College not to know that you have applied for DSA, there are options to decline support, and we can discuss what information, if any, you want to share.

Lincoln College Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) - The Lincoln College Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) is an internal allowance provided by Lincoln College which may be awarded in addition to government support and aims to provide additional support to help students with diagnosed conditions.
The College provides support towards costs of assessment and some equipment.

Success Fund (For Students in Financial Hardship)
Students that find themselves in financial hardship during the academic year can apply to the Success Fund, which exists to support students who may be struggling due to finances. The following must apply:
If it directly impacts on the student's ability to attend the course.
To provide emergency payments for an unexpected financial crisis.
Students must have exhausted, or be about to exhaust, any funds available to them including any arranged overdraft facility.
Students will need to complete an application form and attend an informal discussion which can be held in person or remotely, with the relevant support staff. Application forms are available on the HE Hub on Canvas with details of where this should be submitted.

Career Degree Bursary
The Career Degree Bursary is available to help students gain additional qualifications, accreditations and industry specific development in order to enhance their employability.
Up to a maximum of £200 per student.

Travel Bursary
Aimed at supporting students from specific target groups and those that find financial pressures traveling to study their course/course related activity.
Examples of expenses covered by the Travel Bursary contribution are as follows:

Scholarships
We are committed to ensuring that every individual capable of studying to degree level is able to do so regardless of their circumstances or background ensuring that all students have equality of opportunity to access, succeed in and progress beyond Higher Education to reach their full potential. We endeavour to eliminate barriers faced by underrepresented groups which may impact their ability to succeed by providing the necessary resources and support across the student life cycle to meet the individual needs of the students.
1) Two Course Fee Scholarships are available for ABMO (Asian, Black, Mixed and Other) students for the full course fee up to the total of £9,250 per annum for the expected duration of their programme.
2) Two Course Fee Scholarships are available for students from an 'Identified Postcode Area' for the full course fee up to the total of £9,250 per annum for the expected duration of their programme.
*These are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
**A letter will be sent to the applicant on the accept of their qualification if they qualify.

Access Scholarship
Students must satisfy the following criteria in order to qualify for the Access Scholarship:
Studying an undergraduate course that is not funded by an employer or sponsor.
Have a household income (as assessed by an awarding authority such as Student Finance England) of £25,000 or less.
Students satisfying these conditions will be awarded an ‘Access Scholarship’ at the following rates according to their enrolled mode of study:
Part-Time £150
Full-Time £300

Lincoln College University Centre Returner Incentive
£1,000 Cashback After Successfully Completing Level 4
The Lincoln College University Centre HE Returner Incentive is available to students from Lincoln College, Newark College or ASI who progress directly from a full Level 3 programme onto a Higher Education Career Degree course at Lincoln College, Newark College or ASI. A full Level 3 programme can include:
A vocational study programme from any area (equivalent to 3 A Levels)
A Levels / T Levels and academic study programmes
Access to HE
Musical Instrument Craft Foundation Level 3
In order to be eligible for the returner incentive, students must progress immediately from their Level 3 programme onto a Higher Education course in the subsequent academic year. The £1,000 payment is made following successful completion of Level 4 study. Level 4 completion must be confirmed by a Lincoln College board of examiners.
Students are not eligible for this incentive if they:
Have not completed a full Level 3 programme
Have taken a break in study
Have completed an apprenticeship at Level 3
Progress onto a degree apprenticeship
Are not on a prescribed HE course

Hardship Fund
Students that find themselves in financial hardship during the academic year can apply to the Hardship Fund, which exists to support the retention of students.
Both full-time and part-time students can apply to the fund. The level of an award is at the discretion of the College and subject to funds available.

Career Degree Bursary
The Career Degree bursary is made up of two components:
1. A bursary of up to £500 for full-time students and up to £250 for part-time students over the course of their programme to support any aspect of independent study. This could include:
Electronic devices (laptop, tablet)
IT or recording equipment (printer, camera, keyboard)
IT support equipment (tripod, monitor brackets)
Home office furniture (desk, chair)
Software or licences (Adobe, Silicone Coach)
Course-specific equipment and resources (tools, uniform/kit, books)
DBS Checks
2. In addition, course coordinators will be allocated an additional payment to spend each academic year on enhancements that will support the development of employability skills and progression to graduate level employment. Students are encouraged to discuss ideas on how this can be spent with their tutors.
These additional enhancements might include:
Short courses or workshops with external agencies (First Aid, coaching awards)
Industry visits
Visits to trade shows or industry-specific exhibitions or events
Guest speakers
Student exhibitions

Access Scholarship:
Students must satisfy the following criteria in order to qualify for the ‘Access Scholarship’:
Studying an undergraduate course which began on or after 1st September 2014 that is not funded by an employer or sponsor
Have a household income (as assessed by an awarding authority such as Student Finance England) of £25,000 or less
Students satisfying these conditions will be awarded an ‘Access Scholarship’ at the following rates according to their enrolled mode of study:
Part-time: £100
Full-time: £200
Payments will be made in two instalments, typically November (50%) and February (50%).
