Machining Apprentice - Destec Engineering Limited

Destec Engineering Limited is seeking an apprentice to join its engineering team, specialising in the design and manufacture of clamp connectors, single-bolt subsea pipe connectors, seal rings and boiler inspection caps. You will train across engineering with a focus on precision machining operations.

What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What You’ll Do at Work

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Produce high-precision components from raw material

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Able to work within health and safety guidelines

What Training Will the Apprentice Take and What Qualification Will the Apprentice Get at the End?

  • The apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in L3 Machining Technician.

  • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.

  • This is a Day Release programme, which means you will attend Newark ASI college 1 day a week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

What is the Expected Career Progression After this Apprenticeship?

Candidates will rotate through the workshop on a 6-month rotation, gaining the skills and knowledge required to set and operate a variety of CNC mills and lathes.

Qualifications
GCSE in:

  • English and Maths (grade A*/9 – C/4) - Essential

  • Engineering-based subject (grade A*/9 – C/4) - Desirable

Other requirements

  • Please note that our site is located out of town. Candidates, particularly those who do not drive, should ensure they can reliably travel to and from the workplace.
