This is an intensive one-year vocational course that equips learners with the necessary professional skills to start their piano tuning and technician career.
The school has strong links with industry that will help those learners who may choose to enter the profession after the one-year course.
This is the only vocational course in the UK of its kind. The course is both relevant and practical for people wanting to start a career in tuning and backed by a long history of providing an internationally renowned qualification in musical instrument craft.

Taught sessions will be enhanced from occasional visiting speakers from industry and student visits to Yamaha, Steinway and Sons, Piano Restorations.

Our courses are designed as a progressive pathway, with flexible entry points for different experience levels. Completing the full sequence within a discipline provides complete training from beginner to industry-ready standard.
Please note, the Advanced courses are for adults 18+.
Assessment & Progression
Tuning:
Series of tests throughout the year – results recorded by tutor and added to student portfolio.
Workshop Practice:
Series of practical tasks based on course content, recorded by students and presented as portfolio at the end of the year.
