Do you want to work in the Aerospace Industry? Are you great at practical tasks, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to problem solve? If so, this course could be for you.

Students will gain a broad understanding of aviation by studying a Level 3 Diploma in Travel & Tourism.which is designed to prepare students for a career in the travel and tourism sectors.

All students will have enrichment opportunites linked to Civil or Military & Defence.

Each student has a flying lesson with our industry partner Quiet Tiger in our aircraft at Nottingham City Airport.  Enrichment opportunities include flight experience in a light aircraft and hands-on learning using our state-of-the-art flight simulators, enhancing practical skills and industry insight.

Course Content

The course will cover a wide range of topics in the operations environment. You will also undertake an exciting enrichment programme including trips/visits and guest speakers.

The Travel and Tourism programme offers a number of optional units, reflecting the diversity of the sector so that learners choose units that relate to a career direction of their choice. Learners may choose to combine units that give them the understanding and skills that apply in the industry, with specialist units related to the job roles that they may want to pursue.


Throughout the course, students will enhance in their use and understanding of English, mathematics and physics as applied within aviation. Students will develop the knowledge and confidence to progress to acquire the skills to become commercial or military pilots.
As part of the enrichment process you will get to fly an aircraft and use our state-of-the-art flight simulator!

Entry requirements

Age restrictions: 16+

You will need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English Language, Mathematics and an approved Science-based subject

Assessment & Progression

Assessment: Assessment is a combination of internally and externally assessed units.

Progression: The qualification has been designed to prepare you for a future role within the aviation industry.

What You Will Need To Bring

You’ll need general stationery equipment and a scientific calculator. You’ll also need access to the Internet; PCs are available on campus. In addition, you will also be required to purchase an ASI uniform from our preferred online supplier.
