Do you want to become a qualified personal trainer? If so, this course is for you.
This course is ideal if you want to keep your options open following your studies. It’s also perfect if you are considering progressing to Higher Education following your studies or looking to get a job within the fitness industry straight away. The benefit of this course is that it provides you with both options. This bespoke course has been designed in collaboration with employers and industry experts from the local area such as Deans Sport and Leisure, Arena Fitness, Pure Gym and Performance Gym and Fitness, to ensure that it meets the needs of you and your future employers.
While on the course, you will undertake a total of seven units across two years of study.
Alongside the BTEC course, you will also study a variety of ‘extras’ to ensure that you graduates from this study programme are as ‘work ready’ upon finishing as they can be. The ‘extra’ certificates and qualifications that you will study are the FA Safeguarding 'For All' and the FA Sudden Cardiac Arrest course.

Entry requirements
You will need four GCSEs which must include an English Language or Maths (or both) at grade Four to Nine.
Assessment & Progression
Assessment: Assessment is through internally set coursework.
Progression: The BTEC Level Three Sport, Fitness and Personal Training element of this study programme is equivalent to two A-levels and carries UCAS points that provide an opportunity for you to progress to Higher Education as an exit route, however, more importantly, this qualification is recognised by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMPSPA) for entry straight into employment.
What You Will Need To Bring
You’ll be expected to wear the Sports Academy kit whilst on campus. The minimum expectation is that all students wear a Lincoln College Sports Academy hooded top* and polo shirt*, along with dark tracksuit bottoms and sports trainers.
During practical sessions, you’ll be required to wear a Lincoln College Sports Academy t-shirt*, dark shorts and sports trainers. All Lincoln College Sports Academy clothing marked with an asterisk (*) can be purchased from our preferred supplier.
You’ll also need general stationery equipment and access to the internet; PCs are available on campus.
