Our Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young People course is an excellent way to get started. This course is perfect for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of bullying and how to effectively prevent it.

You will gain a thorough understanding of the legislation surrounding bullying, as well as insight into its harmful effects on children and young people. The course also covers the growing issue of cyberbullying, equipping you with the knowledge needed to address this modern challenge.

With this training, you'll be well-prepared to create a safe, supportive, and bully-free environment for children and young people.

You will be able to define bullying, cyber-bullying and discrimination and look at bullying in context. Look into the short term and long term effects that bullying can have on children and young people.

You will also be able to identify individuals who may be at risk from bullying and the signs that may indicate that a child or young person is being bullied. Consider the reasons that may cause children and young people to be a bully themselves to get to the root of the problem.

You will learn how to evaluate how to respond to and support a child who may be being bullied and how to approach the bully.

You will also dive into relevant anti-bullying legislation like The Equality Act 2010 and look into government and Ofsted guidance and policies on bullying and preventing it.

There are no formal entry requirements. This course is funded through the College’s Adult Education Budget. You must be 19 or older on the first day and duration of the course and not live in a devolved area.

Online Course

Continued on line assessment throughout the course. You will be expected to complete and submit units on a regular basis.

You will ideally need to have access to Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint as you may need to download and edit documents for your online course.

These courses are currently being subsidised by the college and are, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete them, in this case you will be liable to pay a withdrawal fee to cover the cost of materials. We accept that sometimes there are exceptional
circumstances where it simply isn’t possible for you to complete your course. We will work with you to find an appropriate solution to avoid withdrawal wherever possible.
