Do you have the care, thoughtfulness and empathy needed to show compassion and respect during end-of-life care? Do you want to further your knowledge of how to care for someone who is at the end of their life? This course is for you.

By 2040, the number of people aged over 64 in Britain is expected to grow from 9.5 million to 15 million. The population is ageing, meaning more people will live with serious chronic illnesses and need end-of-life care.

The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers.

This course will ensure you can manage pain and discomfort and give you an understanding of care planning in end-of-life care

    There are no formal entry requirements but this course is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the health care sector. You must be 19 or older on the first day of the course, be living in the UK on the first day of your course, and have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for three years immediately before this.

    Assessment & Progression

    Continued on line assessment throughout the course. You will be expected to complete and submit units on a regular basis.

    These courses are currently being subsidised by the college and are, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete them, in this case you will be liable to pay a withdrawal fee to cover the cost of materials. We accept that sometimes there are exceptional circumstances where it simply isn’t possible for you to complete your course. We will work with you to find an appropriate solution to avoid withdrawal wherever possible.
