This course at our Lincoln Campus is significantly oversubscribed, and there is a possibility that a place may not be secured this year.
Are you good with practical work? Do you have an eye for detail? Maybe you’re interested in a hands-on job in construction. If so, this course could be for you.
Electricians install and maintain the equipment needed for the safe and efficient use of electricity, including fitting and repairing electrical circuits and wiring. It’s a highly enjoyable job that demands attention to detail and sound knowledge of the tools and techniques needed to safely install electrical systems.
This Level Two Diploma gives exemption from some units of the EAL/City & Guilds Level Three NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services and effectively reduces the time required to complete the Advanced Apprenticeship Programme by one year. This qualification will also give you entry onto the full-time Level 3 Advanced Electrical Installations.
During this course you’ll learn:
Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering
Principles of Electrical Science
Electrical Installations Technology
Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures
How to communicate with others within Building Services Engineering

Lower grades may be accepted depending on your results on your entry tests.
You’ll also be required to attend an experience day and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment & Progression
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
