The Level Two Wood Machining Diploma is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in either Furniture Making or Bench Joinery, with an emphasis on the use of wood machines to produce your designed products. You will be inducted on and expected to set up a wide range of machinery as well as power tools in our specialised workshop setting.During this course, you’ll study:

Entry requirements
You’ll need to have appropriate knowledge of both theoretical and practical skills of Wood Machining. As well as ideally have experience using both hand and power tools.
You’ll also need to have GCSEs in Mathematics and English (minimum Grade Three or equivalent) and a reference may be requested.
Assessment & Progression
Assessment: Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
Progression: Successful completion of this programme will provide you with a strong portfolio to establish yourself within the industry, either in employment, self-employment or to progress to a degree course.
What You Will Need To Bring
You’ll need appropriate workwear, protective footwear, safety glasses and ear defenders. You’ll also need general stationery and access to the internet for the theory aspects.
