Are you ready to progress with your Plumbing training? Want to learn more than the basics and move on to more in-depth study and techniques? This Level Two Diploma is the course you need.
This Plumbing Course will give you the core skills and knowledge to progress in Plumbing and will prepare you to work in the construction industry, whether that’s for yourself or someone else. Due to unprecedented demand, this course may be oversubscribed, we will be in touch to discuss alternative courses if so.
During this course, you’ll study:
Safe Working Practices in Building Services Engineering
Communication with Others within Building Services Engineering
Environmental Protection Measures
Scientific Principles within Mechanical Engineering Services
Site Preparation and Pipework Fabrication Techniques for Domestic Plumbing and Heating Systems
Domestic Cold Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques
Hot Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques
Central Heating System Installation and Maintenance Techniques
Rainwater System Installation and Maintenance Techniques
Domestic Above Ground Drainage System Installation and Maintenance
Entry requirements
You will need to have already achieved a previous Level 1 Plumbing qualification. You’ll also need to have successfully achieved a minimum Grade 3 GCSE in Maths and English.
We also ask for you to attend a welcome day in which you will have an informal interview, at this event you will carry out a practical taster and will gain further information about the course.
Please note that if you have previously studied Level 1 Plumbing at Lincoln college, you will need to have achieved a minimum of 85% attendance on this previous course to enable you to progress onto the Level 2 Plumbing course.
Assessment & Progression
Assessment is through practical assessment, and also through online exams
Progression is onto the Level 3 Plumbing Apprenticeship Standard.
What You Will Need To Bring
You’ll need workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from our preferred supplier. You’ll also need a copy of the course textbook: 'Plumbing Candidate Handbook: NVQ/SVQ Level Two Plumbing NVQ 2010' ISBN-: 9780435031312. Additionally, you’ll need general stationery equipment and access to the internet; PCs are available on campus.
