Are you great when working with wood and doing practical tasks? Have you studied another carpentry course and want to progress? Maybe you’re looking to become a very handy and skilled tradesperson. If you think this sounds just like you, this course could be for you.

This course includes practical and theoretical elements of Carpentry and Joinery at our Lincoln campus and provides you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress with topics at an appropriate level to begin. This course will also offer you support, preparing you for the construction industry.

During this course, you will learn:

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction

  • Principles of Building Construction

  • Information and Communication

  • Maintain and use Carpentry and Joinery Hand Tools

  • Prepare and use Carpentry and Joinery Hand Tools

  • Producing Woodworking Joints

Entry requirements

You will ideally have some previous Carpentry and Joinery - knowledge or experience or have completed a Level 2 related course.

Assessment & Progression

Assessment: You will be assessed on practical and theory elements, through product creation, written, and online tests.

Progression: Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma could lead to potential employment including, working within the construction industry.

What You Will Need To Bring

You’ll need appropriate workwear, protective footwear, safety glasses and ear defenders. You’ll also need general stationery and access to the internet for the theory aspects.
