Do you want to get into Sports Coaching, Physical Education or Sports Development Related studies? Do you live and breathe sport? If so, this course is for you.
This course is an excellent mix of developing the practical skills needed for the industry, alongside the underpinning theory required for further study.
Typically, our graduates from this course will eventually gain employment as Sports Coaches, Sports Development Officers or Physical Education Teachers. This course is equivalent to three A-levels and requires the students to undertake a total of 14 units across two years of study.
Alongside the BTEC course, you will also study a variety of ‘extras’ to ensure that you graduate from this course with some essential knowledge and skills needed for working within the sector. The ‘extra’ courses you will study are the FA Safeguarding 'For All' and the FA Sudden Cardiac Arrest course.

Entry requirements
You’ll need four GCSEs Grade Four to Nine or equivalent (must include English Language and Maths).
Assessment & Progression
Assessment: Assessment is through a combination of internally-set coursework and externally-set examinations
.Progression: The majority of students who study this course progress to Higher Education, either studying at a university or by undertaking College Based Higher Education before getting a job within the Sport and Active Leisure industry.
What You Will Need To Bring
You’ll be expected to wear the Sports Academy kit whilst on campus. The minimum expectation is that all students wear a Lincoln College Sports Academy hooded top* and polo shirt*, along with dark tracksuit bottoms and sports trainers.
During practical sessions, you’ll be required to wear a Lincoln College Sports Academy t-shirt*, dark shorts and sports trainers. All Lincoln College Sports Academy clothing marked with an asterisk (*) can be purchased from our preferred supplier. You’ll also need general stationery equipment and access to the internet; PCs are available on campus.
