Supporting the Armed Forces Community
The Lincoln College Group is honoured to hold the Ministry of Defence Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, the highest accolade for organisations that go above and beyond in their support for the Armed Forces community.
This recognition reflects our deep commitment to veterans, reservists and military families.
We actively promote armed forces friendly policies, offer flexible employment opportunities and champion the skills and experiences of those who have served.
It’s a proud part of our ‘You Matter’ culture and our purpose to shape futures and serve communities.
Armed Forces Covenant
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
Its two principles are that, recognising the unique obligations of and sacrifices made by the Armed Forces:
Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.

Lincoln College holds the highest badge of honour, Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.
Awarded to employers that provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community by going above and beyond their covenant pledges.
The College has pledged to ensure that it will provide equal opportunities for Armed Forces service personnel and their families, both as an employer and an education and training provider, to help them transition into civilian life at the end of their service.
