The BA (Hons) Professional Policing degree programme gives students the opportunity to meet that challenge. This programme is designed to prepare students for the fast-moving world of policing by following a curriculum written and licensed by the College of Policing.
Studying on our BA (Hons) Professional Policing programme allows learners the opportunity to study a wide range of theoretical and legislative subjects and gain the knowledge required for a rewarding career in the police service.

Entry requirements
A minimum of 120 UCAS Tariff points from:
GCE A and AS Levels with at least one subject at A Level (up to 16 from AS Levels)
BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
Access to HE Diploma
T Levels
Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher
Plus
GCSE English – Grade C/4 or above
GCSE Maths – Grade C/4 or above
However, if you do not have these qualifications you will need to commit to undertaking Maths and English at Level 2 whilst enrolled on your course, as this is a basic entry requirement for roles within the Police.
*For mature applicants, some experience may be taken in lieu of A Levels/BTECs
EU and International Applicants
ENIC confirmed equivalent of 120 UCAS points
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English language qualifications may be acceptable for applicants requiring a Student Study Visa.

Study Details
Students will study on the Lincoln College Campus for the full duration of the course. Full-time, three years.
Whilst the sessions delivered at College will typically fall between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm, it is expected that students will complete online study, in addition to the independent study, outside of these times

Progression:
The programme aims for graduates to be equipped with an in-depth understanding of the role of a police officer today, including a thorough grasp of criminal justice systems and the powers and laws used by the police throughout England and Wales. Graduates with a highly regarded and valuable qualification may progress to careers in policing. Please note that completion of this degree does not guarantee employment as a police officer or police staff.
