The Level 1 Award is ideal if you are new to the welding and metal fabrication industry and want to gain knowledge and practical experience.
The unit is designed to enable you to demonstrate welding skills typically found in the industry and associated underpinning knowledge to a level that will enable you to complete welded joints in simple welding positions and prepare you for undertaking qualifications at NVQ level 1, and this award at level 2.
MIG welding is commonly used to weld various heavy steel applications and more delicate, thin metals, such as cars and machinery. It is an excellent progression from MMA.

No formal entry requirements are needed
Study Details
You will attend a two-hour session delivered by Industry experts. There are both theoretical and practical elements to this course.The course will run on a Wednesday evening from 18:00 - 20:00 for a period of up to 30 weeks.
Assessment & Progression
You will complete various assessments of welded joints throughout the course, under the direction of your tutor. There is also a short answer question module.
